
Cultural Logic is directed by anthropologist Axel Aubrun and linguist Joe Grady, and is supported by a network of cognitive and social science researchers around the U.S.
Axel is a psychological anthropologist whose academic research and publications take an interdisciplinary approach to problems of communication and motivation. He has taught cultural anthropology at the University of California.
Joe is a cognitive linguist whose academic research has explored the relationship between metaphor and other aspects of thought and communication. He has taught linguistics at Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, and also spent a number of years as a consultant helping to analyze and develop brand names. Grady has also worked with George Lakoff to analyze communications contexts and develop messages for nonprofits.
Andrew joined Cultural Logic in 2005. He is a cultural anthropologist whose research has looked at the interaction between culture, rhetoric and public discourse. His work has included crosscultural research in the US, Ireland and the former Soviet Union. Brown has taught at Colby College and the University College Cork.
Rachael joined Cultural Logic in 2006. She attended New York University, Oberlin College and the City University of New York Graduate School. Rachael previously worked for various non-profit organizations and museums in the New York City area.
